Amity Travel Corporation was established in December 1971 and incorporated on the 12th day of May, 1972.  Born out of the desire of its Incorporators to provide travel services both in the International and Domestic front,  Amity grew from a Local Tours company to an International outbound travel agency.

      

          The year 1977 saw the expansion of its branch network with the establishment of offices in Davao City, Cagayan de Oro, and Dagupan City.  This was immediately followed by the opening of our Cebu branch, Bacolod, and Baguio offices in 1978.  Up to the present time, additional offices were set-up in Iligan, Dumaguete, and Iloilo,  not to mention also San Fernando, La Union, Cotabato, Butuan City, Makati City and recently in Lipa City.  All aforementioned locations are very active in supporting our campaign to provide convenient and professional travel service in the major cities in the Philippines.

 

             In February 29, 1980, Amity Travel passed the accreditation requirements of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and was issued a license under No. 283-2869-4.

  

            Hand in hand with our branch expansion,  travel and tour services soon grew to include international and local tours, itinerary planning, airline reservations to include direct access to different airlines, computerized reservations system with the installation of the ABACUS System in our office, hotel reservations for domestic hotels including hotels in the provinces through our network, international and domestic airline ticketing for regular and discounted fares ticketed directly from our ticket stocks, documentation services to include passporting, immigration clearances, and visa assistance for USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia.  Airport assistance upon departure, subject to rules and regulations of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport,  hotel reservations throughout Southeast Asia through our ground handlers in Hongkong, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Seoul.  Likewise,  we offer package tours to USA, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.  Transfer services are provided to domestic hotels, resorts, and other destinations.

 

            In 1985,  a major reorganization was effected in our company as the previous years were very trying years for the travel industry in general.  Since then,  we have consolidated our Travel and Tours into one department for maximization of resources and the integration of our Administrative and Documentation sections.  At present, our workforce is composed of 22 personnel. 

 

             Due to the favourable socio-economic conditions in the country,  Amity has re-activated in 1994 its Local Tours Section and has expanded its series including Real Estate as part of the maximization of our network in the domestic and international front.

 

            Since 1971, our company has handled many diversified accounts.  On the Local Tours,  we've handled incentive tours from Europe, primarily from the U.K. and West Germany to include MINOLTA and UNIROYAL, who have made the Philippines as their incentive destination in 1983.   On the outbound travel, we've sent delegations of the Rotary, Jaycees, Lions civic organizations to international conventions and congresses to various parts of the world. Amity's major accounts are Non-IATA travel agencies, shipping accounts, pharmaceutical companies including United Laboratories,  Elin Pharmaceuticals and Novartis Healthcare;  corporate accounts which include PTV Channel 4, Monsanto Phils., Filsystems, Saldana Group of Companies, Tesoro Electro-Digital Systems, Land Bank of the Phils. and the Embassy of the United States. Because of Amity's vast experience of 25 years in the travel and tours business,  we have remained consistently as top producers of several airlines to include among the latest, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines, Korean Air, Continental Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, and Philippine Airlines.

 

             Amidst the stiff competition in the travel industry,  Amity has maintained its respected name as a travel and tours company, by providing professional service to our clientele,  offering the largest sales network of any travel  agency in the country and continuously providing training programs responsive to the needs of the industry aimed primarily to improve the quality of the personnel for better standard of service to the traveling public.
